Amanda Garman
Passionate People Leader
About Me
People matter. Period.
When I accepted a position within the Wrigley segment of Mars, Inc. in 2011, I knew that I was joining one of the greatest places to work not only in the United States, but in the world (sources Fortune, Forbes, Gallup, Great Places to Work); what I didn't know is that my career path would turn from sales to people management to what has become my passion - people strategy, organizational change, and learning & development.
I absolutely loved my position at Mars, but left so I could minimize travel and spend time with my husband and four kids. Since that time, I've transitioned into Higher Ed and now work for Purdue University. As a Baylor University alumna and Purdue associate, I am proudly both a Bear and a Boiler.
Regardless of the position or industry, I'm always excited to share what I've learned along the way.
My mission is to:
-
Ingrain the importance of professional development within institutions and individuals,
-
Enable people to grow both professionally and personally, and
-
Equip associates with the training and resources to do all of the above
I believe that investing in people should be the top priority for all organizations.
For People Leaders:
By investing in their people, effective leaders are not only directly influencing business results (an engaged associate is a productive associate), but are also impacting a person's future.
For All Associates:
By investing in oneself, associates are positioning themselves for both professional and personal growth.
